Privacy Policy
Hi there! 👋
Thanks for visiting my website. I’m Rachel Swann, the entrepreneur behind this consultancy and contract work business. I’m also the one who handles your data (don't worry, I won’t take it for a joyride). I take privacy seriously, and I want to be transparent about how I collect, use, and protect your information.
If you’re curious about the fine print, here’s what you need to know

Who am I?
I’m Rachel Swann, the face behind the business. (If you want to know more about me, I’ve got an awesome LinkedIn profile here: LinkedIn Profile).
I run a small UK-based consultancy and work with and for businesses and individuals. My aim is to provide top-notch advice, strategy, and support. I’m also a lover of efficiency, good communication, and keeping things simple — especially when it comes to your privacy
What information do I collect?
I’m all about making things as easy as possible for you. Here’s what I collect:
-
Personal Information: If you get in touch, I may ask for your name, email address, phone number, and any details relevant to the consultancy or contract work you need.
-
Website Usage Information: Things like which pages you visit, how long you stay, and what you click on. This is mostly for improving my website, so it’s not a “big brother” situation — just me making sure my site works as it should.
How do I use your data?
I use your info for a few things:
-
To Communicate: I’ll use your contact details to get in touch about your project, answer your questions, or discuss potential work opportunities.
-
To Improve My Website: Website usage info helps me figure out what’s working and what’s not, so I can make my site better for everyone.
-
To Fulfil Contracts: If we work together on a consultancy or contract project, I’ll need to process your data to deliver services, send invoices, or manage our business relationship.
How long do I keep your data?
I don’t hold onto your information any longer than I need to. If we’ve completed a project, I’ll keep your data for as long as required for legal or tax reasons (that’s usually around 6 years in the UK).
If we don’t work together, I’ll delete your details after a reasonable period unless we agree to keep in touch for future opportunities. Don’t worry, I won’t keep sending you emails unless you want to hear from me. If not, feel free to unsubscribe!
Do I share your data?
Short answer: no, not without your consent.
I’m a one-person operation, so I don’t have an army of data handlers. Your data will never be sold to third parties. If there’s ever a need to share your info (e.g., with contractors or service providers I work with on a project), I’ll ensure they respect your privacy too.
I might also have to share info with legal authorities if required by law (but let's hope we never get to that point).
How do I protect your data?
Your information is as safe as it can be in my little digital world. I use industry-standard security measures (like encryption) to protect your data from hackers and other unwanted digital guests.
That said, nothing is 100% secure on the internet, so please bear in mind that any data transmission carries some risk. But don’t worry — I do my best to keep things locked down tight.
Your rights
You have rights when it comes to your data. In the UK, under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), you can:
-
Request Access: Want to know what info I’ve got about you? Just ask!
-
Update or Correct: If your details change, let me know, and I’ll update them.
-
Request Deletion: If you no longer want me to hold onto your data, I’ll remove it, unless I need to keep it for legal reasons.
-
Object to Processing: If you don’t want me to process your data, you can ask me to stop, and I’ll look into it.
Cookies
My website uses cookies. No, not the chocolate chip ones (sadly). These are small files stored on your device to improve your browsing experience. You can control cookie settings in your browser, but if you keep using my site, I’ll assume you’re cool with it.
For the technically inclined: I use Google Analytics to track website usage and other similar tools, which helps me understand how people interact with the site. If you don’t like that, you can disable cookies in your browser settings.
Updates to this privacy policy
I might update this policy from time to time. If I do, I’ll make sure to post the changes here, and you’ll be able to see when it was last updated.
